Rear Shocks 200 1990

I have 90' 245 and I'm pretty sure my rear shocks are gone. Besides the fact that the upper cover on them is completely rusted away, I can bounce the rear end with little damping (it bounces several times before settling down).
Now is this a project that I can tackle or should I be looking at a local shop. I just got done replacing my fan clutch, plugs, rotor, & cap. And that was about as easy as I could have expected.

I did read the 700/900 FAQ on this topic and it does give a good overview of the procedure, however it doesn’t answer the question of how much time does this task take (approximately).

Any help would be much appreciated.
Thank you in advance,
Tom J.
