I am visiting up at Vassar College and was driving down the rode and my car's driver's side spring plate just rusted through to where the spring just dropped and is rubbing against the tire, making it undriveable! I had it towed to a shop that looked and did this diagnosis and the mechanic looked at the rest of the underside and said the car was all rusted thru and it Did look sorta bad. He said I should junk the car, that the amount of repair that is needed wouldn't be worth it for me. the outside Body is okay actually. I don't know if I should try and take it to NJ to my mom's and part it out or what!!! I live in NYC and am just visiting up here and the mechanic is going on vacation after this coming Tues.

can anyoone suggest something or can I pick someone's brain? The mechanic who is closed tomorrow (Sat) said to think it over this weekend. He has my key. He didn't offer me any money for it. I'm clueless as to how I should go about this.

Maybe it is time to let the old girl go, just want to do something that will be rewarding for all the work that has been done.
