1988 744 TIC seems gutless just after startup and then runs perfectly??? 700

Every time I drive my car, it seems to have trouble accelerating just after I start my car, but once I get it going the first time it accelerates as it normally would. Lately, I haven't driven much. I went from 150 miles/week to almost 0 now that school is out. Should I just let it warm up before driving it? Could it be a less-than-satisfactory tank of gas (I haven't put new gas in it in about a month)? Let me know what you think.
