Blower motor resistor 200 1992

I am replacing the blower motor and resistor in my car. I removed the gromet in the blower box had to cut the wires to the old resistor to remove it. How do I get the new wiring harness threaded up to the switch? It seems the hole is not large enough to let the plug on the new wiring harness to pass through.
Any advis is appreciated. Gotta get this fixed. We're leaving for vacation tomorrow and need the A/C!!
