Ongoing 'not going' 200

Hi, still having problems getting my 82 240 with cis and cis running. When I jump the wires in the fuel pump relay plug the pumps runs and the engine starts then dies. When I plug in the relay , the relay does not make the pump run at all. Jumper the fuel pump relay wires turn the key and the starter spins the engine engine tries to start (runs for a few seconds then shuts down) Anyone got any ideas what I should try next (maybe giving the car to another unsuspecting soul so it can drive him insane) or trying an educated guess from some one out there. Previous owner said that at times when idling, the engine would rev up to about 2000 rpm (by the sound it made)and the tach would drop to 0 while the engine was reving at 2000 rpm. Is this a symptom of this illness it seems to have? Harness has been changed, new plugs wires, cap, rotor, starter, belt timing set,new head, injection system cleaned (1982 k-jetronic with CIS -constant idle system, CIS -continous injection system, at wits end. Previous owner went to a shop that suggested it needed a new coil so it has a new coil. Previous owner went to the same shop again and was told it needed a new computer that runs the CIS idle system, so it has a new computer for the cis. Still the car is a disaster sure would like toknow what is the cause of this trouble. Anyone? Thanks in advance. Alan
