I'm trying to find whether there was a particular type of A/C condenser used on the Volvo 700/900 series.
There are two types of core designs;
"parallel" uses two lengths of a small round piping and their ends are connected to each other near the inlet and outlet fittings.
"serpentine" uses a single length of oval or rectangular ribbon pipe snaking its way up the core.
and two types of fittings;
the standard tube nut uses a male/female threaded (and hexed) fitting to connect the hose to the core at individual locations.
the clamp type uses a metal plate held by a single bolt to retain the inlet and oulet hose fittings as one a assembly.
Up to 1990, a parallel core with tube nut fittings was used on the whole 700 series.
By 1993, the design was changed to single serpentine tube with a clamp (single bolt) type pipe attachment located on the lower, passenger side corner.
I'd like to hear from owners of 1991 & 1992 740, 740t, 940, 940SE, 940t and 960 with the type your car uses and which year&model you have (just basic model and whether turbo or not). These two years have 7 parts numbers between the models and engine combinations.
