I did it.
Thanks to the http://users.erols.com/benstein and http://brickboard.com/RWD/index.htm?id=543589!!!!!
I didn't run into any big snags. It took me 8 hours. I did not take the dashboard out. I got a little confused when replacing the resistor because the electrical socket wouldn't fit into the heater core casing hole, but I simply removed a couple of clips and spread it apart gingerly. Fan from Europarts works good. It's a Siemmens made in Mexico. I saw the little piece makin' all the racket on the old fan motor...it's the little shaft mount thingy..was wore down. While I was in the passenger side, I replaced the evaporator and the expansion valve. But..all in all....I think I could do the job again. I have achieved greatness. You know..the little clips weren't that big of a deal...even the impellar shaft clips weren't too difficult. The ONLY thing that I think was confusing was the pneumatic vacuum lines plugging into that manifold thing. How many lines should be plugged into the manifold? (total). I found one that was already unplugged..and I didn't know which tip to plug it to...so I guessed.
I feel at one with my Dad's 240 now. I'm a real DIY!! Now for my daughter's 240 blower motor..ugh!!
