FCP groton exhaust kit 700 1990

I just got in a complete exhaust kit from FCP groton for a '90 740 16valve wagon that I working on.
Aside from it missing a clamp, I noticed something strange. the new rear muffler has a heat shield on it , that if installed in the same position as the factory muffler, would wind up with the heat shield on the bottom.
Any clues on this one?

Also it comes with two different size sets of rubber hangers ( two thick ones and two thin ones) that don't resemble the originals.
Which hangers go where?
