I have a problem with the heater fan on my 245.When the switch is on the off position the fan is still blowing at the same speed as when the switch is in the no.1 position. When the switch is moved to the other positions everything works OK. Does this have anything to do with the fact that the car has air conditionning? Could it be that the air conditionning switch causes the fan to be on? I bought the car last december and this is my first summer with a supposedly air-conditionned Volvo
It would not be so bad if the heat control was not also defective in that even when the lever is at the blue (cold)end of the slot,a good amount of heat is coming through.
Could I fix the fan problem by changing the multi-position switch with one taken from my 1986 245 which is now my parts car but does not have air conditionning?
I suppose that the "always on heat" problem can only be cured by replacing the thermostat and heat control unit which is in the plumbing next to the heater.
Thanks in advance for the advice.
