Hood jammed shut! yikes! 200

Wanting to adjust the hood down a bit more, I opened the hood, used a flat blade screwdriver and gave a few clockwise rotations to the cone shaped pin that holds the hood down. Opps! too much. The hood is now nice and snug, but I can't release it from inside. What's my next step?
