Car stalling at idle 700 1986

My 740 is stalling at idle. Most of the time, when I put it in gear, it will stall out. Sometimes it wont, but most of the time it will. Also, while driving, the car is VERY slugish. I cleaned the TB earlier and ;m in the process of cleaning my Idle control valve now. Is this going to fix my problem? I just need my car to run. Ive already searched the faq. whats wrong?
