I'm trying to repair a dent in the driver's door of my 242 and am having a lot of trouble getting the surface flat. I don't think it's supposed to take weeks to do this. The slightest little tiny waviness shows up when I put the dark brown finish coat on it. Any tips on body work would be appreciated.

I'm thinking of just buying a door. What years will fit an 81 242? What's a fair price to pay for an undented, unrusty door at a boneyard?
