The THING just will not START. 120-130

Well, as noted on a recent post of mine, I dumped about a gallon of crud into my tank (turns out it was ancient spent motor oil, I think). It stalled after 1/2 mile, so I filled up the tank with good gas, and some dry gas, as it was neary empty.
It has not run since then, but not through lack of effort.
I was told by more than one source that I could burn through the crud, so this is what I did today in my vain attempts to get the thing to start.
1) changed check valves as others were not operating properly, ie would not come down when float went down.
2) Made sure that gas was pumping up, and it was.
3) cleaned plugs, then tried some new ones.
4) put in a new coil, due to a weak spark being detected.
5) checked and double checked and reset timing (very new eclectronic ignition), ala fast and dirty.
6) pumped a can of ether into the carbs while trying to start it.
7) many times I put new and uncontaminated gas directly down into the throats of the carbs, and cranked, cranked, cranked.
8) changed plug wires from 8mm to 7mm, during a time of mild desperation

During the many times that I took the plugs out they were wet which pushed me in the direction of the coil, wires and plugs (a better spark please).
And during nearly all of the cranking the car never even once "caught". It only cranked, cranked and cranked.
It seems to act like something is not grounded, but I can't guess what.
In a couple of days I will return to where the otherwise nicley running 122 with a B18 in it is grounded, so please please please help with any trouble shooting ideas you may have.
Thanks in advance.
