Recommendations after overfilling oil?

Hi, can anybody provide me with a list of things to do after having overfilled the oil and driving the car for awhile like that (1987 760 turbo). It was smoking heavily before and now still smokes a little, but I no longer see oil bubbling out at the turbo, etc. The seals look like they're all holding up. I'm thinking maybe the exhaust/cat are all still dirty and are contributing to the continued smoking, and that the plugs might be fouled up with oil. Anything else I should look at?

Oh, I removed over 1/2 a quart of oil, and now the oil is just at the max line on the dipstick. Should I remove more and leave it at the 3/4 or halfway mark on the dipstick?
