It can't be this simple, can it??? The ongoing oil light saga 700 1991

1991 745 turbo with a flickering oil pressure light, you know the story (I have been posting about it for a year):

I built the jig, just like the FAQ tells you to. I ordered a new oil pump, o-rings, and oil pan gasket. I am all ready for the big job, but first I thought I ought to check my oil pressure to make sure I wasn't wasting my time. I went to remove the oil pressure sender and lo and behold, it was only finger tight. I replaced it with a new one I got a few months ago (but didn't use because, after all, it couldn't possibly be that simple, could it?) and now after about a half hour of highway, around town, stop and go driving, pushing her a little, there isn't the slightest hint of a flickering (or glowing) oil pressure light. I can't believe that this could be it. I am driving down to NYC tomorrow to pick up my daughter from the airport. We will see after that. (Never did attach my new oil pressure gauge from Advance Auto Parts - couldn't get the tubing to seat tightly.)

The jig is really very well-built, and I was struck by how cute the new oil pump is. Maybe I won't have to use them after all.

Thanks for all of your help with my ongoing oil light saga. (Not too obsessive compulsive, am I?)
