I just bought an 88 760T with 140K on it that had been severely overheated by a girl who drove it till it stopped. Upon tear down I found the head warped .034” and the two front pistons had begun to melt down. After replacing the head, pistons, rod bearings (which looked good) and gaskets and seals the car started and ran great! But then I took it on a test drive and found that the more I rev the engine the less oil pressure I have. After replacing the oil pump (I had already replaced the tube seals) the problem remains. With a gauge attached, I have about 12 psi. at idle and as I rev it the pressure drops to Zero!
It is consistent, the faster the engine the less pressure there is! I am now assuming that there is some kind of block damage, but before replacing the block, I want to have some idea of what it could be so I can confirm it upon complete tear down.
Any Ideas? I’m stumped!
