hey folks.
i have an 82 240 wagon and i'm interested in putting a diesel engine in it. i have a few questions:
1. i found a donor with a broken timing belt. they suggested that that may have done damage to the internals, but in my experience i've always seen fine inards in this situation. does anyone know if the tolerances of the volvo diesel are so small that that type of damage could happen? if so, what's the percent chance of it?
2. what'll be the major problems i run into. i've read in other places that gas 240's have far more wiring than diesel ones, but that's ok since i'll definitely have the stuff i need for the diesel. also, i've seen notes on the trannys being different, but even if that's the case couldn't i take the diesel's tranny and out it into the wagon, abnd just change driveshafts? are there any other major problems i should look out for?
anything and everything would be appreciated.
thanks,
nick
