Need help with an '88 240 200

About a month ago I bought a 1988 244. It had been in a wreck (front end damage) and I am in the process of fixing that, or tryin to.

When I was driving home, I heard some kind of electrical short and the car died.

I finally deducted it was the coil. I got a new coil and installed it today. The car would not fire at all.

What I noticed is the fuel pump(s) did not kick on at all. I checked the 25 amp fuse in the front. It is ok.

The ECU number is Bosch # 554
It has a large fuel injection computer on the rh side, near the windshield washer pump.

I have not spent alot of time on it, but was wondering if anyone might be able to help.

It cranks over just fine, except it will not fire and the fuel pumps will not engage. Also, I tried a different (new) fuel pump relay and nothing changed. I did hear the fuel pump relay making some sounds as I was cranking the motor.

The timing belt is fine.

Any help would be more than appreciated.

Todd :-)
