After a few days on the Sport Exhaust here's an update:
1) Noise. Considerably noisier. The wife noticed, but said she can deal with it. Phew. The acceptability of the noise really depends on your own tolerance level. If you like the stock exhaust, which totally neuters all trace of any mechanical sounds, then this isn't for you. If you like to actually hear that your right foot does indeed effect some change, then this could be for you. IPD should post dB readings. On acceleration at higher rpms it is of course at it's loudest. But you can easily talk above it. On the highway it quiets right down, unless you're passing or something.
2) Power. There is a very noticable improvement in combination with my IPD VX Cam. The car feels -dare I say- peppy. On acceleration the car pulls cleanly all the way through with no dead spots even with AC on. On the highway at 75mph depressing the gas now actually causes what you could describe as acceleration. Throttle response seems better too.
My normal drive is an S70 turbo with IPD ECU upgrade. While the 240 is nowhere near the performance, with the IPD VX Cam and Sport Exhaust I would characterize it as fun to drive around. There is enough power to respond to your needs, but not enough to become totally wild grinned giggly like the S70.
