Of course, I'm biased. I think that most of the shops I've dealt with were far less than perfect.. bordering on crooked most of the time.

I have half a mind to call them and bitch them out. $1200 to inspect the valves?? Geez.

It's a shame really because there are so many shops that would know how to wrench on a Volvo.

Just the other day I instructed a couple of guys in a 245 on how to replace the fuel pump relay and gave them my spare. The one forced about 5x times what I paid for the replacement relay into my hand. I can't imagine how much that would have cost to have a shop figure out, but I walked away $10 richer.

My current fav tho was the nearly $500 power stage replacement.

These hacks ought to be hoisted by their own petard.
