Here is the latest chapter in my saga of two old volvos- The wagon which needs a headgasket (but which is drivable with frequent additions of anti-freeze) developed an intermittent squeal which sounded like a fan belt.
I head this noise twice before my husband dropped me off in the woods with my dogs (I had no tansportation because the other volvo wasn't working (due to a windshield leak which temporarily shorted out the fuel relay). When I called him to pick me up, he said he couldn't because the car was undrivable. I walked home and looked under the hood, and there was the radiator hose split down the middle.
I checked the tightness of the belts to the best of my modest ability, and they seemed OK. I ordered the hose and clamps from FCP Groton-
What are the chances that if I replace the radiator hose that the car will be drivable to my mechanics so that we can work on the head gasket problem?
