Carbon Build Up in 122S 120-130 1968

I own a 68 122S with a B-18 engine. The engine runs great and compression is good across all four cylinders. However, when the engine is cold, it spits out a bit of carbon onto my driveway when you first start it up. After it warms up, though, it never smokes and uses no oil. Can anyone recommend a good fuel additive that will get rid of carbon build up ? Or, should I be using a higher grade of gasoline ? (I am using 87 octane.)

Thanks for your thoughts.
