locating vacuum leaks 200 1979

what are some techniques on finding vacuum leaks, I can hear one somewhere, near the big black boot under the throttle body, but can't quite locate it. I've heard of using some sort of stethascope type of device. Where would I locate one (beside my doctors office)? do they make these just for the automotive use?

My car has very sluggish throttle response, can't get it to rev over 4200.

This after being a non runner for a few years. Just jot all the intake stuff back on, just think I might have damamged somehoses.
