why no vacuum advance on my distributor? 200

My 83 240 uses the bosch, not the chrysler ingition as found on many 83's. The distributor does not have a vacuum advance on it. The car is running fine, but it is probably the first car I have owned with a distributor that does not have the vacuum advance. WHy is this? Is the advance controlled by the computer instead?
