Opinions of 1975 245? 200 1975

We have a neighbor who may be wanting to sell their 1975 245 wagon. Not sure about the mechanicals, but the body is in nice shape. Not a lot of rust, which is unusual for around here.

I've got a 1978 244 and a 1984 245, so am familiar with the "typical" 240 series; if I were to buy the 1975 it would go in the garage until one of the other two cars kicked the bucket. Besides ours, I believe this is the only other 240 series Volvo in the county (we live in rural Illinois). Not many opportunities to get a good 240 around here.

Anyway, I know the 1975 240 is a weird beast - 240 body with a 140 motor. This one has the auto trans, unfortunately, but that's not a deal breaker. Would be very interested in thoughts about the 1975, given other people's personal experiences. I've never had one. Assuming they decide to sell, I think I'm going to grab the car. But would really like to know what I'm getting into.

Thanks.
