light but anoying clunck noise 700

On my 760 1988 (v-6) i have a noise and a vibration that coming from the streering wheel it fell's like the vibration come from the joint between steering column and steering rack. The steering rack have no linkage side to side, the ball joint, tie-rod are ok, but when i look under the car at the joint between ster. rack and ster. column i heard the clunk coming from the ster. rack. Is it possible to have a hight and down linkage in the ster. rack ??
