half shaft end float , station wagon (221) 120-130 1966

hi
my workshop manual only covers the saloon axles.
I have excess end float(axial Play) on the right hand rear hub.
i understand i take it from the left side, but do i use the same tables?
what could have caused it to increase over the last 12 months so suddenly.
what is the intervention limit? when is it serious.
