I just finished all the maintenance on my "new 960". New plugs, changed oil and filter, changed trans. filter and cleaned pan then flushed the entire system (trans fluid looked like oil it was so black), flushed brakes, fuel filter, serp. belt changed plus a few other cosmetic and a thourough look over of all suspension parts and drive line.
I did find one thing that concerned me who ever did the last engine work must have been a jerk. As I found the coil pack on #6 missing the spring to make contact withe the plug and part of the insulation inside had been broken off, the plug was still firing but that is pretty hard on the ele. componets. I made another spring from a light carb. spring that I had and things seem to be fine. Should I replace the pack on #6 or wait?
The car is running fine and got 23mpg on the return trip at hwy. Is that about what I should expect from it? Was an absolute pleasure to drive. I was very pleased with the performance and feel of the car.
I guess I am a new volvo convert. Gonna kinda hate to give it to the wife.
Thanks again for all the helpful suggestions and information that I have gathered from the forums and the FAQ's.
