Symptom(s):
All instrument panel lights come on about 15s after ignition. They stay on.
No power steering.
Engine is running, but not perfectly. Car drives fine and brakes seem to work (I have not had it on the road in this condition, but my daughter limped home with it when it first happened.
Before this happened I had been driving with the check engine light on for about 1200 mi. It gave a code (1-1-3) for fault in fuel injectors, but I did not find any fault in the system (though I did not pull each injector to possitively verify).
At the same time it had fine accelleration (at least, fine for its age (170k)) and decent mileage (about 19). Other than the CEL and imperfect idle, it seemed like it was fine.
Since this new problem, I get an additional code of 3-2-2 (air mass meter hot wire burn off function not working). I have not yet investigated this one.
Also, while pulling codes this morning I noticed the engine idle slowed to the point that all the belts slowed to a crawl.
This just looks worse the further I look into it.
Ideas?
I should add here that my family has been pushing for a new ride. Something about Texas summers and no AC. I just don't get it!
Many thanks!
