Ok, here's how it is. 1979 245... so far I've replaced the distributer cap, rotor, spark plugs, fuel filter, in tank prepump and I'm still having a really rough idle that will sometimes even stall. I can set the idle speed so it wont stall but then when my car is in park the engine races and driving without depressing the gas I can go around 30mph. A lot of the time when starting a cold engine I have to use starting fluid. This morning it started up right away sounded great idled well and then all of a sudden got really rough and died. After that I couldn't start it without starting fluid. Replacing the prepump solved the ever dreaded bucking with half a tank of gas or less and when driving the car feels nice and I don't hear any noises. I'm running out of ideas! help!
