Bad in tank pump electrical connection? 200

Hello All; I have a no voltage situation on an 86 240's in tank fuel pump. I am losing continuity at the rosin filled connector block, where the in tank fuel pump +feed wire passes through the top plate of the intank assembly/fuel level sending unit plate. A couple of questions, please. Anybody else ever had this problem? Is this ( the rosin block) just a hardened pass through/connector, or does it contain any sort of capacitor, diode etc? I did not see one listed/shown on my schematic, but you never know. Anyone have any reason why I could or should not ( temporarily, until new part shows up)run a new +feed line through the unused vent tube, soldered, shrink tubed and sleeved then epoxyed to be able to get this back on the road safely? Thanks!
