83 Turbo doesn't start 200

Tried to fire up my 83 Turbo after it sat for a year. After removing the mouse nest from the air filter compartment I found that if I lift the air sensor up while the fuel pumps run and then try to start it-it will run for a few seconds-kinda like if you primed a carburetor engine. Any ideas what to check?
