Finally got round to having a look at the broken odometer yesterday by managing to get the instrument cluster out after I figured out I needed to remove the speedo cable.
Odometer is a VDO brand that looks pretty easy to get out and open up. My 1978 245 doesn't have the normal instrument cluster, mechanic says it's from the 242. Is this as easy a fix as the other 240 odometers I've read about on here? I'm presuming a cog has broken?
Also, since I put the speedo cable back in, the needle is jumping around. I've obviously screwed something up there, any ideas?
