Hello, all! My 1990 240's Control Module is causing the "check engine" light to display. My mechanic (whom I trust) checked it out and tells me that all the engine voltages this module isesses are all OK. He tells me that one portion of the module's logic has failed and is giving an erroneous (incorrect) reading. The car runs fine but, of course the check engine light is lit. It's a $600 job (installed) using a reconditioned module (1 year warranty)
The question is, what is the consensus? Should I replace the part? Or should I live with the check engine light and have my mechanic periodicly check the various voltagages that the module monitors.
I understand that the module also controls fuel injection etc. and has other logic that is at this point OK. Do you think this logic problem will spread to other drive related functions?
Thanks for your time!!
