Power roof/windows and turn signal problems.... 900 1995

My mom's 960 has had gremlins since we purchased it used about two years ago. She simply LOVES the car, but dad has been going nuts keeping everything "fixed". He always told us that the more accessories, the more trouble (more things to break). Well, this has been absolutely true for this car, and many other late model Volvo products.

Recently mom has been complaining that intermittantly her power windows, sun roof, and turn signals would not operate. If you "just wait a few minutes they will work again". Dad brought the car over on Sunday, and what do you know BOTH circuit breakers were tripping from HEAT alone! Set the car in the sun, and whammo no power. We replaced the two circuit breakers with FUSES, and no more trouble.

Also, if you hear a light rattle/clunk from the right front underhood/wheel well area and cannot find any reason for it, check the surge tank clip on the back side. If it's broken it will clunk around when going over bumps. A piece of cardboard stuffed behind the tank will solve this until a replacement tank is installed.
