I posted recently a problem with my 1980 245 regarding rapid bucking at speed and low idle/stalling when cold. I eventually found a cracked vacuum hose that ran from the distributor to the underside of the injection manifold. Replacement of that hose fixed the problem immediately, however, now a week later, the problem came back, although not quite as severe. As I inspect other lengths of original vacuum hose, I'm convinced that at the ends, I'm not getting a good seal. How important is a good vacuum? What are the symptoms if I have vacuum leaks? Could that bucking and cold stalling be part of a bad vacuum? Thanks!
