New info re: cooling conundrum 700 1992

Radiator temp sensor bypassed for the sensor under intake manifold. Radiator fins read 98 - 112 degrees with laser temp gauge. Upper radiator hose feels hot and lower radiator hose feels warm. Temp needle goes close to red but does not overheat. It comes down quickly when I blast the heat in the cabin.
