intermitting hot start problem 700 1989

740gl,8v,89,sedan,auto,180K
After driving the car, turn off the engine and want to restarted few minutes later. It won't start not even engine will crank. Seems like trying to start it in a gear. But if i wait few hours later will start without any problem and everything is in normal condition. It happen sometime when engine is in normal operating temperature. What could be the possible cause. Thanks you for the help
