... when i bought my '73 es last year, it had an updated radio installed. the original had almost certianly gone on to its eternal reward....
anyway i got another original on (a mono fm) on ebay and put it in. works okay....
but i do like stereo,cd's and cassettes..

fortunately, a modern radio can be placed just foward of the stick and secured with a little velcro and a few tie wraps. if a little imagination is used, its a pretty secure and clean installation. i just drop a bit of black cloth over it and its bearly noticeable . kind of wierd having two functional radios (got a splitter in radio shack for the antenna), but its been my experience that most volvo people are not slaves to convention.
