With the help of you folks I have gotten my 1988 240DL running pretty well. I am using this as my daily driver while my regular daily driver (1994 Ford F150) sits awaiting transmission work. My 240 will have to get me through October as I will not have the cash until then to work on my F150. I just started back to work last week. On my way driving up to Miami I noticed the rear right lights, front right running light and dash lights were all out. About two miles from work I noticed a strong electrical burn smell. I finally got a chance to check out the fuses today and noticed the bottom 8amp (white) fuse is blown out. I can replace it easily but am wondering if I should instead go on a fishing expedition to find what blew out the fuse first. I hate working on electrical stuff and admit to knowing doodly squat about it. I suspect the problem is the rear right light. The big plug that conects to the light and provides it with power does not fit it easily. As well it looks a little grungy inside the female recepticles. Is there a spray that I can use to get in there to clean that area out. Or perhaps I should just spray some dilectric grease in there to make a better connection. Of course the failure could lay someplace else and then I am stuck on a fishing trip. I am need of advice regarding the connection to the rear light and general information about what to do here. PS: Driving with no dash lights at 5am is not cool at all!
