All right, I possess a 1986 240DL wich has manual windows, wich i'd like to be electric.

Now question is, if I cant get the electrical motors from a 240 with power windows will they just bolt in place of the manual system?

Also I don't want to change the doors armrests; first because I think the power window ones are ugly and second because I am in the course of building some kind of center console armrest to wich I would fit the needed switches( and yes only ME,aka the driver, would have access to the power window controls(o: )

Another thing, here asking for those fluent in making electronic boards and such... how could I build a one-touch up system for my windows I really want to implement two cool buttons in the design; one for al windows one touch up and one for all windows one touch up.

And last little question! My overdrive was starting to have a mind of its own, working only when it seemed right for HIM now I opened the relay and found some cracked solders so I repaired al of these but somebody accidentally sat on the relay breaking it into 5 different pieces rendering it inoperative. Now the system I run is that I took the heavy blue(power) wire from the relay socket and I feed the yellow(overdrive power input) and orange(5 light in inst cluster) via the passenger's heated seat wich was rerouted to the driver's heated seat switch(so both seats always heat at the same time.)I always run the overdrive only in fourth gear even tough it can now engage anytime the ignition switch is on. I also plan to add a second switch in the armrest I am planning to build. Now the system is working pretty accuratly up to now(1 month now) but I wonder if I can fry something with this bypass?

I now it is a long post but it is late and I guess i needed to communicate my various volvo toughts to other volvo enthusiasts wich I do not have in my surroundings :0)
