Our '88 wagon still has a slight whining noise on the highway, *after* replacing with Redline synthetic oil. Is there anything else to do for a 160k tranny?
The noise is only heard under power at highway speeds, off throttle is quiet. I did both tranny and rear axle, including tilting and overfilling. The new oil did eliminate the starting-on-a-hill "howl".
