960 sound from tranny 900 1992

Hi, I noticed a sound from the tranny when I shifted to 2nd at highway speed "L". Shure would be nice if the ECU would alow 2nd at 75mph instead of 65, anyway I'm getting a bearing type sound. any ideas what this could be. Also If I pulled on the gear lever , it seemed to go away.

One more question, I removed the tranny cooler fittings from an old radiator I replaced and made my clear hose to flush the FAQ way, Id like to change to synthetic but can I flush the old ATF completely without mixing with the new synthetic or is this not a problem?
