Interchangeable seating surfaces on front seats...change driver for passenger side? 900

My driver's seat is power and passenger manual. The seat back on the drivers side, near most to the door, is worn (leather) and padding showing through.

Can the seat backs and bottoms be interchanged between the two seats? My passenger seat is in pretty good shape.

(I have a spare child seat, upholstered exactly the same as the rest of the car, that I could use for leather seating material if needed to try and repair the drivers seat back.)

What's the best way to resolve this dilemma?
