Alternative Hood & Trunk Seal Group purchase interest survey 1800

Please note I am not a reseller, dealer or retailer. I am just an 1800 owner who has orchestrated some group purchaces of weatherstripping materials for 1800s.

Since the windlace and window scraper/channel kit group purchase I orchestrated this spring/summer went so well I thought I'd see how many people might be interested in getting in on a group purchace of some alternative hood and trunk seal weatherstripping.

In the process of researching alternatives for the windlace and window weatherstripping I came across a type of weatherstripping which makes an ideal (and superior) substitute for the weatherstripping we are currently able to get for the hood and trunk seal. When installed this stuff will look very similar to the stock stuff but it is MUCH easier to install because you just push it onto the lip of the hood and the trunk instead of gluing it on. I have examined a sample of the stuff and I also think it's made of better quality material than the stuff we're using now.

But here's the REALLY good part: If I can get enough interest to warrant the purchase of one or two rolls, I'm pretty sure I can deliver each buyer enough of the product to go right round the trunk opening (i.e. make one complete trunk seal) AND 3 FULL sides (i.e. the two fender sides and the top) of the hood opening for about $45 USD (plus shipping) which is not much more (maybe a couple bucks) than what you'd normally have to pay for both those seals from the regular vendors like IPD or Swedish Treasures, etc. Keep in mind however, that when you get a hood seal from any of those places you only get enough to go along the top of the hood opening and maybe 6" or so down each side. So for just a couple bucks more you'd be getting the same amount of trunk seal and
about 8 feet more hoodseal than what you'd get from IPD, etc., AND the stuff you'd be getting is is of higher quality and is MUCH easier to install because it doesn't have to be glued on. Methinks that would be pretty good value for your money.

I have just uploaded a couple pictures of this product and put them into the Weatherstripping+ folder in the Files section of the Yahoo 1800 Group List. One pic shows what the stuff looks like in cross section and the other shows how it installs and what it looks like on a car. The second pic shows the washer fluid tube not attached in the corner of the hood where I installed the alternative seal.

If you are not a member of the Yahoo 1800List then I will send you the pictures if you ask me to.

Anyone who might be interested in getting some of this alternative hood/trunk seal or would like more information about it should e-mail me at rojSPAM_OUT@telus.net. *** remove the SPAM_OUT part to e-mail me ***

Thanks,

Roj
