I bought a intermittent rear wiper relay for my DL but it doesn't work properly in the intermittent mode. 200 1985

Hello all.

I got a intermittent relay for the rear wiper and have been told that all of the circuitry is there...."you just have to plug in the blue relay".
When in the intermittent position the rear wiper works as though it was in the ON position. When I press the washer button then the wiper will sweep three times and then park itself. On works normal.

I rewired the rear hatch out of the hinges a couple of years ago.

Could I have messed up the wiring?
How many wires go to the wiper motor?

Seems like their should be two. One for the wiper operation and one for the park...and maybe a ground.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
