Brickboarders,

I am working the kinks out on a recently acquired 1988 240 (non turbo) and had a timing mark jumping back and forth about 5 - 7 degrees. Engine runs rough. Does the jumping timing mark point to a particular type of problem (is it useful diagnositic info) as I try to get rid of the rough running?
