newbie Qs on motor and trans swapping 200 1975

Thinking of buying a nice original 1975 240, bought originally in Sweden but imported to Canada years ago. Car sounds great, but is an automatic (which I really don`t want) and the motor needs to be replaced or rebuilt (which I don`t mind).

I`m coming from old Saabs (99 and 900), so the first thought was getting a good parts car, or raiding the local wrecker yards, to do a turbo engine transplant, plus a conversion to manual transmission. I have been going through the various FAQs and searching this forum, but thought it might be time to jump in for some general advice.

Overall plan sound crazy?

What are the major compatibility issues in motor swaps, and what combo manual transmission and turbo engined cars should I watch out for? I understand that there is considerable compatibility with the 700 series cars, does this go right down to the driveshafts and motor mounts?

Apologies for the basic nature of these questions, I have been working on VWs and Saabs the last few years, but I grew up in a volvo 240 family.
