Hi “brick addicts”!

Water is running under a carpet on driver’s side. I took out the carpet and it looks like there is a leak from under “black cover” which is located between drivers door and firewall. I don’t know what it is and if and how can I take it out. Is it cover for air intake or sunroof drains?
I have found the leak after driving the car with A/C on and in the rain so it is hard to say what is the real cause of the leak.
Please help.
