It's yet another perfect day in the neighborhood here in Minnesota and I anxiously await the call from the mechanic. I completed front strut replacement this morning and then pulled front control arms for rebushingizing (they're at the mechanic, should be done in an hour or so). My excitement here is perhaps a little premature with the control arm install awaiting me, but that's just a formality at this point. Mucho mucho thanks to all you BB folks sharing your wisdom and experience and confidence building.

For the struts, I made my own strut nut tool. Hardware store didn't have an offset box wrench that was deep enough, so I bought a deep socket, cut it up, and welded a handle onto it. Total cost was $8 and 15 minutes. Worked great.

Did strut replacement the Bently way, not Haynes (after much consultation with BB archives), leaving the strut assembly attached to the car via the balljoint. Everything was quite straight foreward with the exception of one of the strut nuts. It was a bear to get loose, finally got it with a LONG pipe-lever on my custom wrench.

Went through lots of PB Blaster and NO knuckles, only a small wrist scrape. Thanks again to all y'all for all y'all's goodness.
